Ingredients are Variations
Here’s what you’ll need to make your own fizzy drink bombs:
- Citric Acid: This is what gives the bombs their signature fizz. You can find it in the baking aisle or online.
- Baking Soda: Reacts with citric acid to create those fizzy bubbles when dropped in liquid.
- Powdered Sugar: Adds a touch of sweetness and helps bind the mixture together.
- Flavoring: You can use liquid extracts for flavor
- Food Coloring (optional): Add a pop of color to match your flavor or theme.
Variations to Try
- Fruity Favorites: Use powdered lemonade, strawberry, or tropical fruit drink mixes for a vibrant and sweet drink bomb.
- Tangy Twists: Add powdered sour candies for an extra zing in your drink.
- Caffeinated Boost: Incorporate powdered tea or instant coffee for a fizzy energy boost.
- Herbal Elegance: Infuse the mixture with finely ground dried herbs like mint or lavender for a sophisticated touch.
- Themed Creations: Match colors and flavors to holidays or events, like red and green for Christmas or bright pastels for a spring brunch.
The best part of making fizzy drink bombs is that you can get as creative as you want! Experiment with different combinations to find your favorite flavor pairings.

- 1 scale
- 1 mold
Ingredients
- 200 g powdered sugar
- 15 ml strawberry extract you can use other extract flavors
- 30 g citric acid
- 50 g baking soda
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine 200g powdered sugar and 15ml extract. Mix until well combined. You can add 2ml of water if needed to help the mixture resemble kinetic sand.
- Add the 30g of citric acid and 50g of baking soda. Mix well. You can add any coloring or edible glitter at this stage.
- Using a mold (I used a bath bomb mould), press the mixture until it's hard, compact and can hold its shape. Repeat until you use up all the mixture.
- On a glass of sparkling water, drop the fizzy drink bomb and enjoy the fizz and flavor!
Notes
- This recipe can make 5-6 drink bombs. The number depends on the size of your mold.
- I used strawberry extract in this recipe, but feel free to use other extracts or you can also use the water flavoring drops.
